Common questions

What is Second Take?

Second Take is a guided rehearsal app for fictional workplace conversations. Each current lesson gives you six conversational decisions, response choices, authored feedback, and a learning guide. You can rewind, compare takes, and save a prep card. The app is being prepared for its first public release.

Which devices and languages are supported?

Second Take supports iPhone with iOS 26 or later and iPad with iPadOS 26 or later. The interface and practice library are in English. Guided practice does not require Apple Intelligence. Free-response practice is not part of the current launch offering.

What can I try for free?

The first three lessons cover a missed deadline, a new request when your week is full, and an after-hours boundary. A one-time Core Library purchase unlocks access to the remaining lessons in the 40-lesson path. Finish each lesson to continue to the next one; a purchase does not skip the sequence. There is no subscription. The app shows the current price in your local currency before you buy.

How do I restore my purchase?

Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase, connect to the internet, then open Second Take → Settings → Restore purchases. Restoration recovers eligible Core Library access. It does not recover local rehearsal history or prep cards. If access is still missing, contact support with the app version and the message you see. Do not send passwords or full payment details.

Can I use it offline?

Guided scenarios and learning guides are bundled with the app. Purchasing and restoring access require an internet connection. Opening further-reading links also uses the internet.

Where is my history stored?

Rehearsals and prep cards are stored on your iPhone or iPad. They are not synced through an app account or iCloud and are excluded from device backups. Deleting the app or losing the device removes access to this local history. Export a prep card yourself if you want to keep a separate copy.

How do I manage or delete saved work?

Open Bookmarks → Practice history to review sessions and prep cards. Open Settings → Your data & privacy to change retention or delete local work. Deletion cannot be undone. Restoring a purchase does not reverse it.

Does Second Take use analytics and diagnostics?

Yes. Google Analytics for Firebase receives limited usage information, and Sentry receives technical error and crash reports. Both run automatically without an in-app permission prompt or switch. Open Settings → Your data & privacy for the disclosures, or email the developer with a privacy request. Apple and RevenueCat still process purchase information needed for library access and restoration. See the privacy policy for details.

What if a conversation or feedback feels wrong?

Second Take’s situations are fictional and its replies are authored possibilities. They cannot predict a real colleague’s reaction. You can flag an inaccurate observation within the app; this mark stays with your local work. To send feedback to the developer, email a scenario title and a general description without private or confidential information.

How do I request a refund?

Apple handles App Store payments and refund requests. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem page and sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
