Cooking Up
Recipes, notes, and cook timers — private on your iPhone.
About
Cooking Up is a private recipe library for people who actually cook. Keep family recipes, blog links, and cookbook photos in one place. Add the notes you always scribble in the margin. Restore an earlier version when the sauce finally worked.
Snap a cookbook page or a handwritten card and turn it into a structured recipe. Save a URL or paste text. Cook with large steps and real timers. No Cooking Up account is required.
Cook, then wait well
Cook several recipes at once with independent steps, checklists, and timers. Alarms, Live Activities, and a Home Screen widget keep the current wait visible without opening the app.
While something simmers, or while the app organizes a recipe on your device, a reserved wait-state space can show a clearly labeled advertisement. Ads never sit on top of the instruction you need right now. Live ads are not in this first store build; the placements are already in the app and will start serving shortly.
Your kitchen stays yours
Recipes and notes stay in your library and your private iCloud account. Original photos live in Files → iCloud Drive → Cooking Up. Sharing sends a copy; the recipient’s edits stay on their devices.
Recipe imports start on-device, with an optional Apple Private Cloud Compute retry you can choose in supported versions. You review every draft before saving. Optional usage analytics and crash diagnostics can be turned off in Settings. Recipe text, photos, notes, history, and imported links are excluded.
